Primavera De Filippi
I am a permanent researcher at the CERSA / CNRS / Université Paris II, as well as a faculty associate at the Berkman-Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard Law School, where I’m investigating the concept of governance-by-design as it relates to decentralized blockchain technologies, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.
Alongside my academic research, I am the co-founder of Backfeed, a project aiming at creating a decentralized governance system for blockchain-based applications. Backfeed implements a peer-to-peer evaluation system for distributed value creation and distribution, which can be used as the underlying platform for the governance of decentralized online communities.
I am also a member of the Global Future Council on Blockchain Technologies at the World Economic Forum, as well as the founder and coordinator of the Internet Governance Forum’s dynamic coalitions on Blockchain Technology (COALA).
Finally, I am the legal lead for Creative Commons France and I sit on the stakeholder board of the P2P Foundation.
